As can be seen from the image below, in the year 2020 only three countries (i.e. Germany, Italy & Japan) had at least 30% of their population at the age of 60 years or older. By 2050, it is expected that the number of countries will grow to include all the European countries, China, Canada, New Zealand, Iran, South Korea, Thailand, Chile, Cuba and Costa Rica. This will have direct effect on these countries, especially on their economies, which will in turn impact the global economy.
