Training in the Ministry of Social Development – Demography & Population Studies

Trainees: Habiba Al-Mahrezi and Arwad Abdullah Al-Saeedia

Training period | Two months from 12/6 to 11/8

They trained in the Planning Department and the Studies Department

Some of the work that they did during the training, including:

1.. Identify the sectors of the ministry, including:

-Social care sector
-Sector of persons with disabilities
– Associations and clubs sector
-Planning and Studies Sector
-Family development sector

2.. A simple analysis of United Nations population projections.
3.. They perpare several maps about number of nurseries in Oman in 2019 and the distribution of Social fulfillment centers in 2021.
4.. Reviewing the research plan of a master’s researcher on “The Effects of Marriage to Foreigners in Omani Society”.
5.. Preparing a presentation on “The Role of Non-Governmental Associations in Omani Society”.
6.. A field visit to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to learn about the Department of Geographical Information and Interactive Maps and their importance in highlighting the services provided by the Ministry. The information related to the Department of Geographical Information and Interactive Maps was explained by the Head of the Spatial Data Department at the Ministry of Population and Urban Planning.

7.. Samples of our offers:

– Attitudes of Omani youth towards entrepreneurship and mechanisms to promote it.
Psychosocial support and its relationship to the problems facing the elderly in Omani society
– The problem of theft among juveniles and adults in the Omani society, factors, manifestations and social effects.
Psychological pressures as a result of the presence of a child with a disability in the Omani family.
– Designing a training program to care for families of people with disabilities.
